When Justin Bieber was 12, he won second place in a local singing competition in his hometown of Stratford, Ontario. His mother uploaded a video of him singing Ne-Yo’s So Sick to YouTube, and the clip went viral, attracting millions of views. A talent scout for So So Def Records discovered the videos, and Bieber’s career took off from there.
